INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH LABORATORY

During the fifties, Sri Monaranjan Dutta, the then Assistant Chemist of Industrial Research Laboratory, made some research and development works on the preparation of different types of pigments such as chrome, Molybdate Orange, Prussian Blue etc. pigments

During the seventies Dr. S.N. Koley, the then Paint and Vernish Technologist of Industrial Research Labratory, Developed an unique method on "Bodying of natural and synthetic glycerides by moltel eutectic salt mistures consisting of sodium nitrate and potasium nitrate salts in different composition at temperature varying from 280-320 degree C". The boiled oil produced showed better properties than normal stand oil.

During the eighties , Dr. Subrata Sil, Present Paint and Varnish Technologist, has conducted significant research work on "the processing of oil and esters of their fatty acids using cupric nitrate as catalyst at higher temperature (ca, 300 degree C)". Paints and Varnishes prepared from these catalyst polymerised linseed oil showed better properties than that prepared from uncatalysed oils.

We provide consultancy to various paint industries to develop new products and solve problems of finished products. Industrial Research Laboratory also provide testing facilities for paints to different paint industries.
